From a Quiet Street to a City Favorite
In 2010, the restaurant opened its doors on Mills50, back when the street was still quiet and growing. What started small quickly became a place people talked about and returned to often. Over the years, guests spread the word through shared meals and good experiences. More than a decade later, it is known across Orlando as a trusted seafood spot built on consistency, care, and steady growth shaped by the community it serves every day.
A Louisiana Story Finds a New Home
After Hurricane Katrina, founder and chef Melinda Thu Ha Nguyen left Bogalusa, Louisiana, and began a new chapter in Orlando. She brought with her deep roots, strong work values, and a welcoming spirit. Her cooking and warm hospitality helped build real connections with guests. Over time, her well-known ShaBang sauce became a signature, and the restaurant grew into a place where people felt recognized, welcomed, and comfortable returning again.
Family Spirit, Modern Cajun Roots
The restaurant is proud to serve family-style Cajun cuisine with a modern touch. The focus has always been on quality products, bold sauces, and thoughtful preparation. Guests can expect a family-friendly setting, attentive service, and food made with care. With a strong team behind the scenes, the business expanded into multiple franchises while keeping the same values that shaped the first location—honesty, consistency, and an enjoyable experience from start to finish.
